Dance Wave opened the summer of 2012 and offers dance instruction for students ages 3 through adult. Our mission is to create a fun, positive environment, where students are inspired to learn, build solid relationships and express themselves through the art of dance. A variety of classes are offered including Ballet/Lyrical, Pointe, Hip-Hop, Jazz/Modern and Tap.  

Meet the Dance Wave Teachers


Tasha Lockard - Owner/Studio Director
Tasha Lockard - Owner/Studio Director
Tasha is married with four children, Nile - 11, Quinn - 8, Micah - 4 and little baby Asher. She began taking dance lessons at Dance Express in Oelwein at the age of 9 and continued there through high school. While on her high school dance team, Tasha served as Choreographer and Technique Captain. She has attended many workshops and competitions throughout the Midwest, including the Chicago National Association of Dance Masters’ Convention and Teacher’s Training. While attending the University of Northern Iowa’s Dance Education program, Tasha was a member of UNI’s dance company, Orchesis. Also while at UNI, Tasha was a member of the faculty at Dance Express.
Alyssa (Gilson) Olsgaard
Alyssa started her dance career at the age of two, attending Dance Express in Oelwein IA. From there she attended Attitudes Dance by Aimee and Steil's Studio of Dance, with background in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern, Lyrical, Musical Theater, Pointe, Hip-Hop, and Partnering. Alyssa has attended several workshops annually, including The Pulse and CNADM. She is currently working on hours to get her CDE through CNADM. Alyssa has taught at Dance Wave (Waverly), Steils Studio of Dance(Oelwein) and Red River Dance and Performing Company (Fargo).

Megan Bridgewater
Megan is a graduate of Benton Community High School in Van Horne, Iowa and Wartburg College. Dance History: Began taking classes when she was five years old with Christine’s Dancers (Van Horne, Iowa) and continued throughout high school. During the 13 years, she studied ballet, tap, jazz, and pointe, and was also a teacher’s assistant beginning at age 11. Megan was a captain and choreographer for both her high school dance team and the Wartburg Dance Team. This is Megan's 5th year as part of the faculty at Dance Wave.
